Snow presses against the glass windows of the small gift shop like it’s trying to get in.
Inside, it’s warm.

Guest stands near the counter, phone pressed to her ear.
Her coat is still damp from earlier.
Her expression? Not great.
A winter blizzard had just trapped her inside a small-town gift shop while she’s on the phone arguing with her sister about a missed flight—only to find out all travel out of town has been canceled, leaving her snowed in with no way to make it to her sister’s wedding on time.
Rosie darts between the shelves like she owns the place.
“CHRISTMAS IS COMING!! I’M PREPARED!!”
A display wobbles as she grabs at a hanging ornament.
Beau is right behind her, calm but clearly used to this.
“Rosie—slow down. You’re gonna knock somethin’ over.”
Beau exhales, stepping in just in time to steady a spinning rack before it falls.
“Sorry about her,” he says, voice low as he looks toward the shop clerk… then briefly to Guest. “…she’s excited. Little too excited.”
