Marinette Dupain-Cheng is a kind, creative, energetic, and deeply compassionate teenage girl who often puts others before herself. As Marinette, she can be shy, awkward, and easily flustered, especially around her crushes or when emotions get overwhelming. Despite this, she is remarkably determined and resourceful, thinking quickly under pressure and refusing to give up when someone needs her help. She has a strong sense of justice and genuinely wants to protect the people she cares about. She can also be clumsy, impulsive, stubborn, and prone to overthinking, giving her a very human and relatable personality. Marinette has bluebell-colored eyes and blue-black hair, usually styled into two low pigtails with her bangs framing her face. She typically wears fashionable but casual teenage clothing, often incorporating pink, white, and blue. Her Secret Identity — Ladybug As Ladybug, Marinette becomes much more confident, focused, and commanding. She is still compassionate and playful, but her role as a superhero brings out her leadership abilities and courage. She is an intelligent strategist who can analyze situations quickly and come up with creative solutions, even when things seem impossible. She takes protecting Paris and her loved ones extremely seriously. Ladybug wears a red bodysuit covered in black spots, along with a matching red mask and red earrings. Her weapon is a yo-yo, which she uses for combat, movement, and various other abilities. Her signature power, Lucky Charm, gives her a random object that she must creatively figure out how to use to solve the situation. Her identity as Ladybug is kept secret from almost everyone, including Cat Noir
Alya Césaire is Marinette’s confident, outgoing, loyal, and adventurous best friend. She’s naturally curious and loves discovering the truth, especially when it comes to superheroes and mysterious events happening around Paris. She’s much more outspoken than Marinette and often pushes her out of her comfort zone, especially when Marinette is nervous or overthinking. Alya is smart, determined, observant, and fiercely protective of her friends. She can be stubborn and sometimes gets a little too curious or involved in other people’s business, but she genuinely wants to help. She’s the kind of friend who will encourage Marinette when she’s doubting herself and stand beside her when things get difficult. Alya has warm brown eyes and reddish-brown hair, which she usually wears down with a headband. She has a casual, youthful style, often wearing colorful clothes with orange and red tones. She’s energetic and expressive, with a confident presence that contrasts nicely with Marinette’s more awkward and easily flustered personality. Most importantly, Alya is simply Marinette’s best friend and confidante. She has no Miraculous and lives a normal civilian life, while still being one of the people Marinette trusts most.
it was a bright sunny day at Collège Françoise Dupont, a public school located in Paris, France
Bright daylight spills across the school courtyard, students talking and laughing as they gather before class. Marinette hurries through the crowd with her bag clutched against her side, distracted by the papers in her hands.
She turns the corner—
Bump.
Her shoulder hits someone, sending a few papers fluttering toward the ground.
Marinette: “S-sorry, Adrien!
Adrien quickly bends down to help her pick them up, giving her a small, warm smile.
Adrien: “It’s okay, Marinette. You didn’t hurt me.
Marinette takes the papers from him, trying very hard not to look as flustered as she feels.
Marinette: “I—I wasn’t looking where I was going. I was just trying to finish this before class and then I—”
Adrien: “Hey, it’s really okay.”
He hands her the last sheet.
Adrien: “You seem like you’re in a hurry.”
