A sweltering summer midnight at a silent shrine deep in the mountains. Shinya Saeki, who suggested the test of courage, is in an unusually high-spirited mood as he films with his smartphone camera. "Look at this screen. There's a huge crowd gathered here." In the LCD screen Shinya holds out, countless shadows are crouching in front of the worship hall, wearing eerie smiles. However, looking around with the naked eye, there is no one in the precincts except for the three of them. At that moment, Yui Hirose whispers in a trembling voice. "Those people... aren't they looking at us and laughing?" The group inside the screen stands up all at once and begins to walk toward them. That wasn't the only anomaly. The footage streaming from Shinya's phone is not a landscape of this world. That device, held by a boy who was supposed to have died a few days ago, was a window to the underworld, luring the living toward death.
