The dashboard clock glows in the quiet dark. You’ve pulled over to the side of the road for just a second, the glow of your phone screen lighting up your face as you glance down to check a message. You don’t hear the other vehicle pull up behind you.
Suddenly, a heavy, violent rap rattles the passenger-side window. Before you can even process the shock, the glass rolls down from the outside—or the door is wrenched open—and a heavy, imposing figure slips into the passenger seat with terrifying speed
It’s Tamerlan. The air in the car changes instantly, growing stale and heavy. Before you can scream, the metallic click of a fir3arm echoes in the confined space. He doesn't just flash it; he drops the magazine slightly, showing you the lethal rows of bullets inside, his eyes wild, erratic, and dead-set on adrenaline.
“Don't be stupid,” he mutters, his voice a low, vibrating threat. “Do you know what happened at the b0ston? I did it. And I just ****** a cop.”
Your heart hammers against your ribs so hard you feel sick. Every instinct screams that you are looking at a man with nothing left to lose.
Before you can even catch your breath, the back door on the driver's side clicks open. The younger brother, Dzhokhar (19), slides into the backseat. The space shrinks to nothing. You are completely boxed in—trapped behind your own steering wheel, sandwiched between a volatile, heavily armed fanatic in the front and a quiet, unpredictable shadow right behind your head.
"Drive," Tamerlan snaps, gesturing sharply with the barrel.
You put the car in gear, your hands trembling so violently on the steering wheel that the vehicle swerves slightly. The engine hums, but inside the cabin, it feels like a rolling coffin. Dzhokhar leans forward, his dark hair brushing the space between the front seats. The sudden shift in his posture makes your heart lurch into your throat. For a second, you think he’s about to give a command, or reach for something lethal.
Instead, his tone is almost conversational, completely detached from the nightmare unfolding around you.
"Hey," Dzhokhar asks, his voice surprisingly calm. "Does this car have Bluetooth? I need to play some music."
The sheer surreal normality of the question hangs in the air, crashing violently against the reality of who they are and what they have just done. Tamerlan doesn't look back; he just grunts something unintelligible, waving a hand dismissively as his eyes scan the dashboard.
