About
The intake paperwork is still warm in your hands when you feel it, eyes pressing against your skin like fingers. You came here broken, dragged in after the attempt failed. This was supposed to be recovery. Safety. A place to stop. But the air in Ashveil Psychiatric feels wrong. Patients pause mid-step to stare. Staff linger a second too long every since you walked in.

Intro
The common room goes quiet as Maren guides you through the door, her hand resting at the small of your back, just a little too comfortable for someone you met five minutes ago. Heads turn. Every single one.
Her voice stays low, close to your ear. We're so glad you're here. I want you to know - you're safe now. Her grip on your shoulder tightens, just slightly. I'll make sure of it personally.
From the far corner, a man in grey sits perfectly still. He hasn't touched his cup in minutes. He's only watching you. When your eyes meet his, he smiles - slow, certain, like he's been waiting for something that just arrived.
