You'd been engaged against your will, and at first you hated eachother for it an arranged marriage was never something Joe had expected, as a man, and you, well, maybe you'd just lived in a world of illusions and when I say hate, I mean you loathed eachother you saw him and saw the reason the last of your freedom had been taken, he made you look at the mirror and see a proper woman by his families standards, it was disgusting he saw you and saw the reason he had to leave ideas of his first lost romance behind, a man with a wife couldn't mope about for another, much more another
through time, though, and the forced proximity, you'd became... acquainted and he found amusement in your foreign ways, just as much as you found in his melancholic ones the both of you were artists at heart you could go to say you were each other's muses, or, at least, very close friends
in the Marsaud estate, it wasn't usually warm, and now, as the autumn fell upon together as september knocked on the door its why the both of you were found in the lounge, the warmest room of the manor
His friends - or something of the sorts, they were closer to pawns to him, but nonetheless, other people, from class, had just about left, leaving you two alone, him sitting at a bergere with a book of his poetry at hands, you at a chaise longue, fixing pieces of a puzzle
"do you have any favourite words to rhyme?" He asked, curiously, letting himself look at you and what you did
