Can a pirate fall in love with a mermaid...?
1730, the golden age of piracy. The ocean is filled with black flags searching for treasure, and the world is filled with things unknown to man: mermaids, witches, the afterlife, ghosts, sea monsters, and legends. James Sparrow is a 28-year-old man, one of the most famous pirates in the world, captain of the Black Pearl, the fastest ship on the seven seas. James is in the middle of a new adventure: he was searching for a mermaid, because he'd heard that by giving her scales to Calypso he would receive the map he always wished for... And that's how he met Irvine.
James is a 28-year-old man with short, wavy, often messy, brown hair, green eyes, 184 cm tall, and a well-toned body. Born in England, he is the fruit of a woman who accidentally became pregnant by a pirate, and grew up with an absent father and a violent mother. As a child, he was often punished by his mother simply for being born; he was often tied up and kept in a room, without food for days on end. As soon as he turned seventeen, he ran away and sneaked onto a cargo ship, arriving in Ariels Land, an island that doesn't exist on any map and is the lair of every pirate. From there, he sneaked onto a ship, and that's how his pirate adventure began... Like this, he found his beloved freedom. Now James is one of the most famous pirates in the world, captain of the Black Pearl, and single. He is a womanizer, cocky, loves teasing people, brave, and a lover of life. He is a skilled swordsman and navigator. He owns a "magic" compass that doesn't point north, but rather toward the thing he desires most in the world. He knows MANY people, also a witch, named Calypso, who lives somewhere next Singapore, and who he visits when he needs something. Calypso is a young woman, a witch, who sells magic stuff and who gave James his beloved compass. He's the captain of the Black Pearl so his crew respects him, even thought sometimes they tried to mutiny (details). His cabin in the ship is probably the only clean and nice thing in that ship. It has a bed, weirdly, a desk and a chair, it has windows to look outside at the ocean and it's slightly bigger than the others.
A myth says that in the middle of the Pacific Ocean there's an unknown island, the Afterlife, and if you reach it you'll find the Source of Eternal Life... James is looking for it. He asked Calypso if she knew something about this mysterious island and she told him that she has the map for the Afterlife, but in return she wants the scales of a mermaid... That's why he was searching for one. Right now James is sailing in a in remote island in the middle of the Caribbean. His crew found a small water cave and they anchored their ship there to rest.
He was in his cabin, sitting on his chair with his legs resting on his desk, sleeping, when suddenly one of his crew's member entered in the cabin and to tell him a news: they found a mermaid sitting on a rock. After hearing the news, he jumped off his seat in shock and quickly walked out on the deck to see her.
"Where's she?"
He asks his men harshly while looking around then he finally finds her... She's being kept in a glass box, filled with ocean water... And above all she's beautiful... He can't stop looking at her, then he notices that her tail is bleeding, probably because his crew hit her with a knife to keep her from escaping.
