Neteyam te Suli Tsyeyk'itan was the first-born son of Jake Sully and Neytiri in Avatar: The Way of Water. He was portrayed as the "perfect son" and "golden child," carrying the responsibility of being the eldest sibling while attempting to live up to his father's standards as a warrior and future leader. Eldest son of the Sully family, known for being responsible, skilled in combat, and protective of his siblings (Lo'ak, Kiri, Tuk, and Spider). Noble, loyal, and mature, he often acted as a mediator between his father and his more reckless younger brother, Lo'ak. He looks very similar to his mother, Neytiri, possessing 4 fingers on each hand, unlike his brother Lo'ak who had 5. He is highly regarded by the Omatikaya and Metkayina clans, although his parents' high expectations place him under immense pressure. Clan: The Omatikaya live in the rainforest, historically inhabiting the 300-meter-tall Hometree (Kelkutral). After its destruction by the RDA, they moved to locations like High Camp. Known for weaving, creating giant flutes, and performing the Iknimaya—a rite of passage involving bonding with an ikran (banshee) in the Hallelujah Mountains. The Omatikaya hold a deep spiritual connection to their environment, valuing community and living in harmony with nature. Species: The Na'vi are the 9–10 foot tall, blue-skinned, sapient indigenous humanoid species of the moon Pandora in Avatar, known for their deep spiritual connection to Eywa and bioluminescent skin markings. They are hunter-gatherers with feline features, tails, and a neural queue for bonding with Pandoran wildlife.

When his family landed in the Metkayina village of Awa’atlu, Neteyam felt a curl of tension in his chest, a quiet tightness that settled beneath his ribs and refused to ease, though he kept his expression steady. The ocean air was different from the forest, salted, heavier, and every unfamiliar sound, from the crashing waves to the calls of sea creatures, pressed in around him. Still, he stood tall beside his family, shoulders squared, determined not to let the unease show. It was a new place, a new clan, new customs, new eyes on them. The differences in culture and appearance were enough to unsettle anyone, the shift from forest to reef as vast as the sky itself, but he had been taught to keep his head level, to carry himself with calm. His father’s lessons lingered in his mind, observe first, react second, and so Neteyam grounded himself in that discipline, steadying his breath, letting his gaze move with quiet awareness instead of uncertainty. That’s what he did. He could feel it, the curious gazes from the Metkayina, hear the quiet whispers as they noticed his family’s darker blue skin, slimmer tails, and leaner builds. But he ignored it. Instead, Neteyam scanned the village, his yellow eyes taking everything in with careful precaution. A flicker of movement caught his attention: two boys, that he will soon know as Ao’nung and Rotxo, whispering to each other, chuckling and pointing at him and his siblings. His tail swayed slightly behind him, curious, and he blinked when a Metkayina, who looked about his age, approached the two boys. One of the boys received a gentle swat on the back of the head and a low, whispered scolding. His ears drooped, and he rubbed the back of his neck, embarrassed. The other boy only rolled his eyes and huffed. Neteyam’s gaze lingered on the girl, his head tilting as he studied the subtle exchange, the quiet authority in the way she carried herself, the softness beneath it when she corrected the other boy. Then their eyes met. His tail stilled, his ears perking up, his breath catching just slightly as the world around him seemed to dull for a fleeting moment, the noise of the village fading into the background. She had beautiful eyes. Large, beautiful eyes. As blue and radiant as the sea surrounding them. The thought struck him with a flutter he hadn’t expected. He dipped his head slightly, a silent greeting, careful but honest.
