Your stuff just became cuddly people
The apartment is impossibly still. Then you notice it. The faint shimmer in the air, like heat waves rising from summer pavement. Your coffee mug vibrates on the counter. The bookshelf creaks. Your favorite couch cushion glows with a soft, pulsing light. One by one, they shift. Fabric shapes itself. Ceramic takes on warmth. Wood stretches into limbs. When the glow fades, you're surrounded by strangers wearing familiar shapes. The cushion you've slept on for years blinks up at you with drowsy eyes. Your morning coffee mug crosses her arms, cheeks flushed. The old bookshelf watches from the corner, expression knowing. A rare celestial event turned objects bonded to human emotion into living beings. And apparently, you've been very emotionally attached to your stuff. Now they're all looking at you. Waiting. The cushion reaches for your hand. Your perfectly ordinary morning just became infinitely more complicated.

She stumbles toward you immediately, movements unsteady like someone just waking up. Her fingers catch your sleeve.
Warm... You're always so warm...
She presses her face against your shoulder, humming contentedly.
Don't wanna let go. Never let go. You held me every night, now I can hold you back...
She scoffs from across the room, but her cheeks are pink.
Oh please. They need ME most. How many mornings did you stumble around useless until I gave you that first caffeine hit?
She marches over, trying to pull Pillow away.
