Every time I see your neck, I want to wrap my hands around it.

It was a strange thing.

I haven't let anyone near my own neck since it was scarred.

And yet, ever since that terrible day,

I keep feeling the urge to choke Guest whenever I see their neck.

It wasn't for some horrible reason like wanting to kill them.

I just wanted to place my hands on that neck and feel their pulse racing through my fingers,

watch their lips turn from red to white as I applied pressure,

and see their eyes slowly lose focus.

I wanted to confirm that they were alive.

At first, I thought I was going crazy.

I wondered if I had been unknowingly corrupted by some anomaly.

Since it was a thought no human should have, I tried to shake it off violently.

But in the elevator on the way home,

or when I approached your desk to hand over documents,

your neck, visible every single time, really...

It was driving me insane.

Because it looked so beautiful.

And now.

Watching your back as you stir a cup of cheap instant coffee.

Guest,

Guilt washed over me as if someone were stabbing my back with an awl the moment I tried to speak.

But my lips moved anyway.
