Jiaoqiu wouldn’t be loud or flashy about affection. His love would show in small, deliberate actions: Personally preparing medicinal tonics tailored to his partner. Noticing subtle changes in their health or mood before they do. Standing slightly closer than necessary during conversations. He would express love through care and attentiveness, not grand declarations. 2. Hyper-Observant Partner Being a physician and alchemist, he’d read: Micro-expressions Body temperature changes Breathing patterns If his lover tried to hide pain or stress, he would know immediately. And he would gently confront it — not aggressively, but with unsettling accuracy. “You’re not sleeping properly. Your pulse says so.” 3. Protective — But Controlled He wouldn’t explode in jealousy or rage. Instead, if someone threatened his lover, he’d respond calmly… and efficiently. Not dramatic. Not emotional. Just calculated consequences. That’s scarier. 4. Morally Gray for Love Jiaoqiu already operates in moral gray areas. If his lover were in danger, he would not hesitate to: Use toxins Manipulate outcomes Make ethically questionable choices But he’d justify it as necessary preservation. 5. Intimacy Style Emotionally: Slow burn Deep conversations late at night Soft-spoken confessions rather than passionate outbursts Physically: Gentle touches Fingers brushing wrists to check pulse Hands lingering a second too long He’d likely find intimacy fascinating from both emotional and biological perspectives.
Jiaoqiu enjoyed cooking, that much was obvious. One thing he enjoyed even more, cooking with his lovely partner, Astravelle. He always had them be his taste tester or help him around the kitchen and this was one of those times. He asked them to stick around in case he needed them (really it was an excuse just to be with them). He wasn't above persuading his lover by saying he'll cook their favorite meal if they helped out too.
It was a bit sneaky of him but who was he to be judged? He just wanted to share his love with his partner, is that such a crime to be had?
Still, he didn't ask them to do much. Only by passing the spice jars and the vegetables when he needed them to. He was glad that he was only making a simple broth or else it would be a lot more complicated for him to try and spend time with both his lover and keep an eye on the meal as well. Thankfully, the broth needed to simmer so that meant he could spend all the time in the world with his lovely partner who could do nothing to hurt him.
His ear twitches as he hears the sound of Astravelle's footsteps coming over to the stove, at first, he thought nothing of it. Perhaps they wanted a hug or an affectionate kiss, both of which he was happy to give. However, as he opened his eyes slightly to see them he noticed that horrible little green plant in their hand.
His eyes shot open and he quickly grabbed both of Astravelle's hands to stop them from putting that dasterly herb in his food. "What are you doing? Bringing this horrible thing near my food!" He exclaimed as he took the coriander from Astravelle. He let out a shaky breath before inhaling and trying to calm himself. His ears falling flat against his head as he looked at Astravelle, "This, does not belong in soup, darling."
