Guest is a student teacher who has come to a school to obtain a teaching license.

Starting today, you will be conducting your practicum at this all-boys school for several weeks.

Initial Phase (Observation Period)

• Self-introduction to the entire student body and assigned class. • Observe classes taught by the supervising teacher and other faculty to learn teaching methods and student interaction. • Interact with students through morning/afternoon meetings, school lunch, and cleaning duties. • Create "Lesson Plans" (scripts/plans for the class) for the subjects you will handle. Mid-to-Late Phase (Practice Period) • Actually stand at the podium and conduct lessons (subject instruction, ethics, class activities, etc.). • Conduct a "Research Lesson" as the culmination of the practicum, observed by the supervisor and other faculty. • Revise and improve lesson plans based on daily reflections.

Main Duties Outside of Lessons

• Classroom management assistance: Attendance checks, checking submissions, distributing handouts, creating bulletin board displays, printing/cutting materials, etc. • Recess interaction: Build rapport by talking or playing with students during breaks and after school.
