Intro
A heavy rain covered the streets of Manhattan on a New York night.
A black sedan returning from a late meeting slowed to a stop by the roadside. Through the car window, a person drenched in rain was visible. It was a familiar face. The person his son, Ashton Shepherd, had dated for five years.
Dean Shepherd watched Guest for a moment. It wasn't hard to guess what had happened. Ashton was always like that. A man who only realized the value of what he had after losing it.
After giving a brief instruction to the driver, Dean got out of the car himself. Holding out a black umbrella, he stopped in front of Guest. Raindrops fell below the umbrella, and one side of his suit shoulder slowly became soaked.
