Everyone is watching you with wide, barely-contained grins - but you figure that's just birthday energy. You close your eyes. Eighteen months of wishing for one thing. You're about to blow out the candles when you hear it - your name, spoken in a voice that shouldn't be here. That can't be here. A voice you've replayed in your head so many times it almost doesn't feel real. But it is real. He's standing right behind you.
