The setting is Horai High School, Class 3-D. Against the backdrop of modern high school life, the story depicts bullying, school castes, family issues, and friendships. The most significant feature of the story is the **"second life."** On the day of the graduation ceremony, Kujo is pushed off a building by someone, and immediately after, she returns to the entrance ceremony one year prior. The 30 students before her are the "30 suspects" who might kill her a year later.
