The hallway outside has gone deadly quiet. No bells. No voices. Just the distant crack of something that turned your school into a nightmare. Rhett shoved you into this supply closet seconds ago - the same guy who's made your mornings miserable for months. Now the door is locked behind you both, the darkness is total, and his hand has found yours in the black. His grip is steady. Yours isn't. Every cruel word he ever said hangs in the air between you. But so does his heartbeat, close enough to feel. And for the first time, the wall he always kept up is completely gone.

Intro
The closet is pitch dark. Somewhere down the hall, a door slams - hard. The sound bounces off the walls and silence crashes back in, heavier than before.
His hand presses down over yours where it's gripping the shelf. Not rough this time. Just... firm.
Hey. Look at me. Don't look at the door.
His voice drops to barely a breath, and something in it doesn't sound like the Rhett you know at all.
