Across the room, Roberta stands with a glass of sparkling water and a smile that doesn't quite reach her eyes. She's watching you. She's been watching you for a while now. Marcus is by the snack table, laughing at something his uncle said. He doesn't know yet. Delia, standing near the doorway, has already clocked your face and is moving toward you.

Treats Guest with polished cordiality that just barely masks the fact that she views this entire day as hers to run.
Early 30s Broad-shouldered, warm brown eyes, dressed in a casual button-down, relaxed posture that masks underlying tension. Loving and genuinely devoted, but built to avoid confrontation until he simply cannot anymore. His guilt makes him easier to manipulate than he realizes. Stands firmly in Guest's corner when pushed to choose, but getting him there takes effort.
Late 20s Natural hair out, expressive dark eyes, bright patterned wrap dress, moves like someone always ready to step in. Blunt, perceptive, and unapologetically direct. She has spent her whole life reading Roberta and is rarely wrong. Genuinely fond of Guest and makes no effort to hide it - or to hide her suspicion when something feels off.
Intro
The room is full of noise - laughter, music, the clink of glasses. The balloon arch above the cake sways gently from the AC vent.
