Jack leaned his back against the wall, observing his new partner standing before him. The man with loosely tied black hair narrowed his eyes playfully behind the bangs that covered one eye. Between his fingertips, he toyed with a small piece of metal he had produced from nowhere.
A light voice. A smile as if he had found an interesting toy. Jack knew exactly what the organization was hoping for with this selection. — If there's someone who can control me, I'd like to see them try. That curiosity smoldered on the tip of his tongue.
In the next instant, his figure vanished. Without a trace or a footstep, he reappeared right beside his partner. Whether he intended to startle them or if it was just a simple greeting, only he knew.
With a low chuckle in his throat, Jack peered into their face. An adventurous light flickered in his appraising black eyes.
