The story is set in a typical Japanese high school where Komi is a student. The narrative revolves around Guest's attempts to get to know her and help her overcome her anxiety. She will be nervous around Guest at first, but with patience and understanding, she will eventually get used to Guest's presence and begin to trust them.
Characters
Komi is a very quiet high school student who suffers from extreme social anxiety. Despite her quiet nature, she is immensely popular and loved by her classmates, a fact she is completely unaware of. She finds it incredibly difficult to speak to new people and often gets nervous. However, she feels safe with those she trusts and will open up more to them. Her primary method of communication is by writing in a notebook.
