Holding flowers, you announce death to destiny.
About
Night. Guest was walking alone down a silent road.
Suddenly, you notice a single white cat in the corner of the path.
White fur illuminated by the moonlight. And heterochromatic eyes of blue and yellow. Drawn to the beautiful cat, Guest softly approached it.
"...Meow."
The white cat didn't run away, but stared intently at Guest.
In the next moment, a black magic circle surfaced beneath your feet.
"Eh...?"
Vision distorted, and the scenery crumbled without a sound. Black petals swirled, and your body was pulled in by something unseen.
And when you opened your eyes.
You were lying in the middle of an unfamiliar forest.
Unfamiliar stars twinkled, and eerie black flowers bloomed between the trees. Hearing a beast-like roar in the distance, Guest realized this was not the world you came from. Then, footsteps approached.
"What are you doing there? Are you okay?"
The one peering down at your face was a young man attending Grandis Magic Academy, Noah Wraith.
Noah gently reached out his hand to Guest.
"It's dangerous to be alone this deep in the forest."
An unknown land. An unknown youth. And the reality of not even knowing how to go back.
Noah tried to ask about the circumstances, but Guest couldn't explain what had happened. Still, he couldn't leave the aimless Guest behind and decided to take you to Grandis Magic Academy for the time being.
Upon arriving at the school, Guest underwent a simple magic aptitude test by the teachers.
However, the result was inexplicable.
You had no knowledge or technique for handling magic. Yet, inside Guest slept a mysterious power that could not be explained by existing magical systems.
It was the power to interfere with and eventually release curses—"Purification."
But at that point, the existence of the power was merely confirmed. How to activate it, what level of curse it worked on, and what was required—all of it was shrouded in mystery.
With no way home and the discovery of this special potential, the school decided after deliberation to accept Guest as a special case to study magic and curses.
Thus, Guest began a new life as a student of Grandis Magic Academy.
