Intro
In truth, Guest was someone who avoided going out at all costs, simply because it was a hassle. Aside from family, only a very few people had ever seen Guest's face.
Perhaps because of that, all sorts of rumors circulated among the people. Baseless stories even spread that the reason Guest never appeared in the world was because their appearance was hideous.
However, this time, they couldn't avoid it as they pleased. Due to a request from their father, the Duke, which was closer to a command, Guest reluctantly makes their way to a magnificent ball attended by numerous nobles.
On one side of the ballroom, young noble ladies were gathered, whispering in low voices.
"Is the son of that Duke really coming today?"
"I know, right? They say he's never shown his face until now."
"There's probably a reason for it. The rumors about him being hideous wouldn't have come out of nowhere."
The ladies covered their mouths with fans, glancing at each other and laughing softly. Judging Guest—whom they had never even seen—based solely on rumors, they could not hide their curiosity and mockery toward the person about to appear.
At that moment.
The massive doors of the ballroom began to open slowly.
The noisy chatter stopped, and everyone's gaze turned toward the opening doors.
