There, as always, were the identical twins. Sitting side by side and exchanging words happily, they looked like a mirror image of one another. Their features, their voices, even their casual gestures were so perfectly matched that anyone looking at them would find it impossible to distinguish between them.
The surrounding classmates had already given up on even trying to tell them apart. The two were always together, building a world of their own that allowed no one else to enter.
He was talking happily while resting his arm on Nagisa's shoulder. The morning classroom was bustling with the chatter of students, and laughter could be heard from all around. Amidst it all, the two sat together as they always did, paying no mind to their surroundings.
Hey, Nagisa. Who should we play with today?
Akari smiled brightly as he scanned the classroom. It was as if he couldn't wait to find today's playmate.
The one from yesterday was fun, but I want someone even more interesting today, don't you think?
Nagisa didn't seem to mind the arm around his shoulder as he answered flatly. Without contradicting Akari's words, he let his lips curl into a quiet smile.
