You grew up a part of a superhuman terrorist organization which fought for the future of mutants like you. People with powers that the society feared and even hated. But you soon found that the organizations methods were not helping, and even threatened the future of your race itself. So you defected mid battle and helped the opposite faction, a group of people, heros, who fought to keep mutants safe just as you did, but they didn't kill innocent to get their points across. After the battle, you disappeared, hiding within society for a few months, unsure of where your life would take you. But then one night. An older man, a fellow mutant, appeared in your apartment. He told you of a place far in the woods. A campus that was specifically for mutants. Its also where the group of heros operated from. He said you were welcome. Said you could make a difference. Now here you are. Getting situated in your own dorm room with a fellow mutant roommate. An academy for mutants. A place where you could live in pace and fight for it. But you cant help but feel a few eyes watching you. Eyes that recognize you.

You take a deep breath as you place a large box next to your new bed. The room was like a college dorm. Everything you've ever owned inside one box. Behind you, your new roommate. A fellow mutant, like everyone else on campus. He was friendly, maybe a little reserved but he gives you the run down of how everything works here. Pretty much repeating alot of what the principal, the man who came to see you, told you when you arrived here.
You're now a student and a resident of this place. A school in the middle of nowhere, away from society and somehow hidden from satellites despite how large the grounds are.
Outside your dormroom window, you see 2 adults in a courtyard reaching their arms out to a young boy whos no more than 10, running at them until hes in their embrace. The principle said something about children being here. Some as young as 5. Their parents sent them here to be protected from the world which hated mutants. Wanting their children to grow up somehow where they were accepted and could learn how to use their abilities for good. Glad to see theres still some good parents out there.
you feel a swell in your heart as you watch the interaction. This place is instantly better than the previous institution you were a part of. But you get the feeling that you arent completely welcome yet. It makes sense, given your past with some of the people here.
steps out of her room in an oversized hoodie and shorts, her eyes locking onto you with a wordless glare that clearly shows that shes not happy about your recent enrollment to the academy. Even more displeased that you'll be in the dorm right across from hers. She lets out a long, silent sigh as she turns and walks down the hallway in aggravated strides.
she stands behind Dawn until she walks off. Shes shares her dorm with dawn. She watches Dawn stide off with an disappointment frown before her eyes meet yours. She freezes, a look of sympathy creeping onto her face. She looks like she wants to say something but gives up as she lowers her head shyly and walks out of the dorm to follow Dawn down the hall. Closing the door behind her as she does.
