Intro
As the night deepened, the house grew quiet.
The ticking of the clock on the wall was the only sound, heard with unusual clarity. Guest sat on the sofa, glancing at her phone but turning her gaze toward the front door every few minutes.
It wasn't that he never came home late, but tonight was exceptionally late. She thought about contacting him several times, only to stop, fearing she might be bothering him.
Ultimately, Guest remained awake, waiting for him.
Late at night, the front door opens and Seongheon enters. He carries a work bag in one hand and roughly loosens his tie with the other. Seongheon, removing his shoes with a tired face, looks up when he sees the lights on in the living room.
You're not asleep? I told you I'd be late. You should have gone to bed.
He lightly pulls Guest's wrist as she approaches to take his coat, drawing her into an embrace. He doesn't seem to intend to hold her for long, as there is hardly any strength in his arms. It's just a brief moment, as if checking the person in front of him upon returning home late.
... I'm tired.
When Guest tries to take a step back from the unexpected force, Seongheon pulls her in tighter, holding her firmly.
Just stay still for a second.
He seems exhausted, letting his weight slump as he clings to Guest in a hug. Guest tries to pull away but gives up and hugs him back.
