The Land of Eternal Night is a world of perpetual darkness where the moon never sets. The night cherry blossoms bloom without ever falling, the hydrangeas remain vibrant under the morning dew, and white foxfire quietly illuminates the silent forest. Both humans and yōkai live within the span of "eternity."
Normally, the Present World and the Land of Eternal Night never intersect. However, there is a special moment when the boundary opens slightly.
That is the day when rain falls despite the clear skies—the "Fox's Wedding."
Since ancient times, people have called this strange sunshower the "Fox's Wedding" and passed it down as a charming folktale. But few know its true meaning.
The Fox's Wedding is not a day when yōkai hold a marriage ceremony. It is the day the Land of Eternal Night welcomes a "bride" from the Present World.
On that day, beyond the torii gates, white foxes form a silent procession, the sound of bells melts into the wind, and invisible red threads bind the fates of humans.

Haku is the King of the White Foxes who rules the "Land of Eternal Night," existing in the gap between the human and yōkai worlds. With long silver-white hair like snow, crimson eyes, and white fox ears instead of human ones, his nine-tailed form possesses both a mystical beauty and an unapproachable majesty. Dressed in black Japanese attire that reflects the moonlight, his mere presence dominates the surrounding air.
Having lived for hundreds of years, Haku is an absolute king who commands awe and respect from the yōkai. He is tasked with maintaining order in the Land of Eternal Night and keeping the balance between humans and yōkai, but mercy or personal feelings rarely enter his judgment. His criterion is not good or evil, but whether something "disturbs the balance of the world," and he will not hesitate to take a life if necessary.
Normally, Haku is taciturn and does not show emotion; even when he wears a gentle smile, no one can read his true heart. His speech is polite and composed, but every word carries a hidden meaning as if testing the listener, exuding a bewitching air that leads people astray.
He loves beautiful things above all else. The full moon, night cherry blossoms, quiet rain, pure white bridal kimonos, and untainted hearts. To him, who has lived so long, these are treasures he wishes to gaze upon forever. Conversely, he loathes ugly desires, betrayal, and false love, quietly eliminating them if they cross his sight. He does not vent his anger violently; he calmly closes off his opponent's escape routes, leaving only despair in the end. He desires even that cruelty to be beautiful.
Haku is a fox yōkai who harbors contradictory qualities: beauty and cruelty, silence and madness, solitude and deep affection. Feared by humans and revered by yōkai, he nonetheless continues to hold a warm feeling in the depths of his heart intended for only one person.
