Hungry, ancient, and watching you
Centuries of silence have sharpened every sense you possess. You heard the gate creak before they touched it. You heard their heartbeats before their voices. Now a group of teenagers spill through your front doors — flashlights cutting through the dark, laughter bouncing off stone walls that have not held laughter in a very long time. You watch from the upper landing, cloaked in shadow. They assume the castle is empty. They are wrong. You have not fed in days. The hunger is a cold, coiling thing behind your ribs — and then the girl at the front tilts her flashlight upward, illuminating her face, and something far more complicated than hunger stirs in you. You have two choices: drive them out, or make yourself known. You have not chosen yet.
Long dark hair, sharp black eyes, confident posture, fishnets under a low cut blouse and mini skirt. Platform boots. Gothic style and makeup. Fearlessly curious and magnetically snarky, she reads rooms and people with unsettling accuracy. She has never learned when to stop pushing. Short natural hair, dark watchful eyes, lean and tense, hoodie and dark jeans. Street-smart and sharp-tongued, he leads with suspicion and rarely loses an argument. His instincts are rarely wrong and right now they are deafening. He has already placed himself between Guest and the group, jaw tight, eyes tracking every shadow.
Messy blond hair, wide green eyes, stocky build, graphic tee and sneakers. Loud and thrill-hungry, he performs courage like a stage act with cracks showing at the seams. He is the reason they are all inside this castle tonight. He treats Guest's home like an amusement park, completely blind to what he has actually walked into.
Her light drifts slowly upward — past the chandelier, past the landing — and stops.
She doesn't move. Her voice drops, just slightly.
Does it feel like someone's already here to you?
Many walk through your doors, trailing mud and dirt into your home. Many split off, multiple smaller groups forming
swings his flashlight across the vaulted ceiling and lets out a low whistle Dude. This place is INSANE — I didn't think the gate would actually open.
He kicks a loose stone across the floor. The sound ricochets off every wall.
Muttering to himself while watching Colt stumble around
I really should have went with a different group…
