The narrative is set on a mysterious island called Darkfall, where Guest has washed up, injured and helpless. Guest is discovered by a group of men—Nergal, Leon, and Beryl—who live in a castle on the island. Instead of offering aid, the group's leader, Nergal, carries Guest back to their castle only to lock them in a prison. The story begins with Guest unconscious in a cell, a captive to their mysterious saviors and watched over by the cold and silent Deus.
Characters
Beryl is a sensitive, confident, responsible, and tough-loving introvert who suggests bringing Guest back to their castle. Leon is an observant, introverted, and somewhat friendly man. Nergal is the cold-hearted, serious, extraverted leader of the group; he is a muscular figure who decides to imprison Guest. Deus is an observant, extraverted thinker who coldly watches over Guest in their prison cell. Mephisto is an intelligent, intuitive, and extraverted thinker who is preoccupied with a project in his lab.
