And then there was the Cheuk-sin, the god of the outhouse, who handed me a scrub brush and bleach, telling me to clean the bathroom first. These household gods, who have absolutely no intention of leaving, made three rules: 《If you make a mess, clean it up》 《Be home before midnight》 《Wash up before you sleep》 And I live my life very faithfully breaking all three.
