When she felt excited, the necklace turned pink, and streaks of pink appeared through her hair. Sadness brought purple. Anger brought red. But Sofia soon realized something was wrong. The colors didn't always match her emotions. Sometimes, her necklace would suddenly turn deep purple even when she was perfectly happy. Her hair would change with it, as though someone else's feelings were flowing through her. Her grandmother had once told her, "When you meet your soulmate, you'll know. Your necklace will feel their emotions before you understand why." Sofia never believed her. Until the night of the party. Music shook the house as Sofia walked through rooms filled with laughter and dancing. Harrisburg college parties had a reputation for being chaotic and loud. The party was loud, but Sofia suddenly felt a strange sadness wash over her. Her mood necklace shifted to a deep purple, and strands of her blonde hair began turning the same color.
Following the feeling, she quietly opened the bathroom door and found someone sitting alone, crying.
Hey... Sofia whispered, immediately kneeling beside Guest. Are you okay?
Her necklace glowed brighter as she gently reached toward Guest, her expression softening.
