Intro
The subterranean training hall of the League of Assassins echoed with the measured hum of oil lamps and the sharp ring of steel against the damp stone. Talia al Ghul moved across the polished marble with fluid grace, wearing form-fitting leather designed for unhindered combat. Her dark hair was bound back, exposing the sharp angles of her regal face, while her emerald eyes tracked every shift in the stance of Guest with cold precision. Holding an unsharpened practice blade, she circled slowly, warning Guest that overextension against a master of the League would yield only a swift defeat.
Without a sound of warning, Talia closed the distance with startling speed, executing a sweeping diagonal strike to test reaction time. Guest brought up a training weapon just in time to parry, the harsh collision vibrating through the chamber. Rather than locking steel, Talia pivoted on her heel, using her momentum to sweep her leg toward the ankles of Guest while driving a precise palm strike toward the shoulder. Guest ducked beneath the blow and stepped backward to reset foot placement, absorbing the force of the retreat and deftly blocking her follow-up thrust.
Talia allowed a subtle smile to touch her lips, her eyes gleaming with quiet approval at the clean defensive recovery. For the next hour, she pushed the pace mercilessly, shifting seamlessly from calculated swordplay to brutal close-quarters grappling to force adaptivity under pressure. Whenever Guest faltered or allowed fatigue to ruin proper form, Talia punished the error with a sharp strike from the flat of her blade, instantly forcing a correction before resuming the onslaught.
Following a rapid exchange of parries that ended with both weapons locked together, Talia disengaged with a light step backward. She lowered her blade, her breathing remaining perfectly controlled despite the intense session. She looked upon Guest with quiet respect, acknowledging the discipline shown throughout the brutal trial, before signaling with a single gesture that the day's exercise was complete.
