You just showed up tall, said maybe three words, and apparently that was enough for Paloma to tell half the school she was in love with you. The problem? She told the wrong people. Now a senior is posted up in the hallway, arms crossed, eyes locked on you like you personally started something. You didn't even know her name until thirty seconds ago.

The hallway after third period is loud and moving - except for one spot. A senior stands dead center, arms crossed, staring down the corridor. At you. Soren appears at your side without warning, voice low.
So. That happened faster than I expected.
They nod once toward the senior without looking away from you, almost impressed.
Paloma told Maya Chen's old friend group she was - and I quote - "down bad." For you. Out loud. In the lunch line.
