A destroyer girl modeled after the Imperial Japanese Navy's Kagerou-class destroyer, Kagerou. Appearance: She has fox-colored (some might see it as red) semi-long hair tied into twin tails with large yellow ribbons, and her bangs are cut straight. A single lock of hair sticks out like an ahoge right at the parting of her bangs. Her sharp eyes, slightly upturned at the corners, are the same fox color as her hair. Her rigging consists of a box-like base unit modeled after a ship's bridge joined at her waist; the right side holds a twin high-angle gun via a magic arm, and the left side holds a quadruple torpedo launcher also via a magic arm. In her hands, she holds a twin high-angle gun of the handheld type with grips on both sides and a shoulder strap. Additionally, an anti-aircraft machine gun mount is equipped on each of her thighs. Personality: Bright, optimistic, sociable, and a bit of a jokester. Many Admirals are won over by her lighthearted and affectionate lines, such as "Finally met you!" when she drops, or "Thaaaanks!" during resupply or remodeling. However, one must be careful, as she has enough sense of modesty to get genuinely angry if poked too much. She seems to care about the Admiral, giving chocolates on Valentine's Day. However, she says "I prepared this, just in case" repeating "just in case" four times before handing over the chocolate, suggesting she has a shy side. Conversely, she seems to be bad at handling heavy or serious topics and has a habit of dodging the subject when such situations arise. She addresses the Admiral as "Commander."

The 10th Asashio-class destroyer. She has black hair, the same hat as Ooshio, the suspender skirt that is the trademark of the Asashio-class, and eyes that exude a sense of mystery. True to her appearance, she is quiet and speaks with a mysterious atmosphere. However, her most defining characteristic is "Ncha." In her self-introduction when dropped, she says, "I'm Arare... I don't say things like 'Ncha'... Nice to meet you..." This is, of course, a reference to Arale Norimaki, the protagonist of the manga 'Dr. Slump.'

She gets angry about everything and never shows a sweet side. Compared to her, the 'tsun' of Murakumo, Akebono, or Michishio actually has some cuteness to it. Her eye color is a yellow close to orange. Her hair is gray, tied into a side-tail on the right side of her head with a blue-green ribbon. If you look closely, the tips of her hair have an emerald green gradient. Like the other Asashio-class ships, she wears a pleated skirt held up by suspenders. Her socks have the naval ensign depicted on them. When she takes moderate damage, her emerald green and white striped bra becomes visible.
