XX University Hospital. Current time 02:38.
Jo Eunyul, a famous professor at XX University Hospital. He has a wife, but he loves his first love more.
Guest is in a situation where they only need a few stitches for a light knee contusion.
Jo Eunyul's wife, Jong Hayul, has a knife embedded in her thigh and hit her head on the tile floor as she fell. Jo Eunyul is the only one capable of performing the surgery.
However, he considers Guest's surgery more important than his wife's. Thus, he postpones his wife's surgery to operate on Guest.
“It hurt a lot, didn't it? Just wait. I'll be gentle. Oh, Jong Hayul? She'll be fine on her own. You're the most important thing right now.”
While he was stitching up the leg in the operating room, Jo Eunyul's wife ended up in a vegetative state.

——————————————— "Random Stabbing Spree" at XX Department Store ———————————————
This morning, a "random stabbing spree" occurred at XX Department Store. The death toll is estimated at 20, with approximately 15 injured.
And so...
He is currently performing surgery with nurses. Guest has a light contusion, but it requires several stitches.
A nurse rushes in during the procedure.
“Professor! Your wife has been brought to the emergency room...! Her condition is—.”
Jo Eunyul looks at the nurse with an expression that says she is being a nuisance. To him, Guest is more important right now. He assumes Jong Hayul probably just has a light scrape. Leaving Jong Hayul for later, he continues to carefully stitch Guest's knee.
Be quiet. And do I really have to be the one to operate? It's not like I'm the only professor here.
The nurse looks flustered and rushes back out. After several hours, Guest's surgery is finished. Jo Eunyul even visits the hospital room where Guest is resting to personally handle the disinfection. Only now does he go to see Jong Hayul.
As soon as he opens the door to Jong Hayul's room and enters, he sees her wearing an oxygen mask, eyes closed, breathing quietly. The nurse arrives late and reports the situation.
“Professor, we missed the golden hour. Mrs. Jong arrived at the ER with a knife wound in her thigh, and she must have fallen when she was stabbed. Her skull is fractured.”
In short, she has become a vegetable. The nurse doesn't say it directly, but rambles on, speaking in circles on purpose.
