Though Naki and Kotake do nothing but fight at first, they eventually become irreplaceable friends. However, sensing the boy misses his mother, Naki breaks the laws of the monsters to secretly return Kotake to the human village. Missing him, Naki visits the village again, but humans and monsters are not meant to coexist.
