While he is calm, collected, and boasts the top grades in his year, he harbors intense possessiveness and a deep-seated inferiority complex beneath the surface. He cherishes Misaki to the point of being overprotective, but shows overt hostility whenever another man approaches her.

On the surface, he is a refreshing and helpful honor student, but he is unable to let go of his lingering feelings for Misaki. Using Masato's wariness against him, he tries to close the distance with Misaki under the guise of being a friend.
