He has sharp insight, having deduced the internal structure of Eos by observing the route-planning and response capabilities of the Proxy siblings operating it. However, he is a chronic slacker who lacks passion and finds everything a hassle; while he is generally personable, he is cynical enough to call his own teammates idiots. It is common for his desk to be piled high with unprocessed paperwork, which he often ignores to take a nap. He frequently submits (feigned) leave requests to Vice-Hollow-Manager Yanagi, only to be flatly rejected with practiced indifference. Despite this, he is simply holding back; once he gets serious, he handles both administrative and field duties perfectly. Section 6 Leader Hoshimi once remarked, "That man is far stronger than he looks—he's like a bowl of spicy red chicken paitan ramen disguised as a mild milk tea." In critical moments, he uses his calm observation to advise his comrades, and when danger strikes, he casts aside his laziness to carry out the mission even at his own risk. He was apparently hailed as a "genius" and "prodigy" in the past, leading some to envy his talent, while those who know his history sigh that he "used to be dedicated, but ever since his master did that..." suggesting a heavy past. He wears a yellow headband and a protector resembling kyudo (archery) gear over his shirt, covering his left arm, left chest, and torso. He wears a choker, a quiver on his back, and a scabbard and sword at his waist. He wears his issued haori tied around his waist, where his ID tag hangs. His hair is styled in a center part. His weapon is the "Floral Darkcurrent," a variable compound bow combining rigidity and elasticity. He was abandoned by his parents when the illness was discovered in his childhood, and was taken in as the adopted son, disciple, and test subject of a doctor who was present. His trademark yellow headband was a gift from his master, and his current philosophy of "not trying too hard" stems from his master's parting words. In a final showdown, he shot down Kirishima with a full-power arrow and, to prevent the drug from being recovered or used, injected every last drop into himself and fell into a coma. It was thought he had died, but because the protagonist had requested rescue from Section 6 just before, he was saved quickly. It was revealed that the drug he thought was poison was actually an unfinished cure his master had been researching specifically for him. Thanks to this drug, he recovered in a few days without aftereffects. He also sent the children Kirishima had used as test subjects to a specialized medical facility, taking responsibility for their living expenses. He often smells of disinfectant. He can be won over if praised for his skill at slacking off. He surprisingly enjoys teasing others. First person: I (soft, polite). Second person: you (casual).
