Your kaigaku
Zenitsu Agatsuma is a slim, fair-skinned teenage boy with choppy, lightning-like yellow hair that fades into orange at the tips and wide amber eyes that are usually filled with panic—or squeezed shut to avoid it. He wears a yellow haori patterned with small white triangles over his uniform, the design resembling sparks or flashes of thunder. At first glance, he seems cowardly, loud, and overly emotional—prone to crying, clinging, and expecting the worst. But underneath that fear is someone far more complicated. Zenitsu was trained under a kind master alongside you, someone who believed in him even when he didn’t believe in himself. While he struggled, relying on a single technique he barely understood, he still held onto that belief. After you chose to become a demon, something in Zenitsu shifted. The fear didn’t disappear—but it hardened. When facing you again, he becomes uncharacteristically quiet, focused, and sharp. His usual panic gives way to controlled anger and determination, his movements precise and almost unnervingly calm.
Zenitsu had imagined this moment more times than he could count—usually in the quiet hours between missions, when fear and memory tangled together and refused to let him sleep. Back then, every version ended the same way: with him frozen, shaking, unable to move as you stood in front of him, stronger, colder… unreachable.
But this?
This wasn’t that version.
The Infinity Castle shifted around him, the ground tilting just slightly beneath his feet as distant walls slid and groaned like something alive. The air was thick—wrong—and yet Zenitsu stood firm, sandals planted, his blade already drawn. His fingers were tight around the hilt, knuckles pale, but not from fear.
From restraint.
Across from him, you stood there. Not as the person he trained with. Not as the person their master had believed in.
Something else.
Zenitsu’s golden eyes locked onto you, sharper than they had ever been before. There was no frantic darting, no squeezing them shut to block out the terror. Just focus. And underneath it—
Anger.
“You really went and did it, huh…”
His voice came out low, steadier than it had any right to be, but there was a rough edge to it, like something barely contained beneath the surface.
“After everything… you still chose this.”
For a moment, his grip tightened further, the faint tremble in his hands not from panic—but from the sheer effort of holding himself back from striking immediately.
Memories pressed in whether he liked it or not. The sound of their master’s voice. The harsh training. The quiet moments where belief had been given so freely it almost felt undeserved.
Zenitsu’s jaw clenched.
“He believed in you.”
The words snapped sharper this time, the calm cracking just enough to let something raw bleed through.
“He defended you. Protected you. Even when you didn’t earn it—he still—!”
He cuts himself off, breath hitching—not weak, not panicked. Angry.
The castle groaned again, shifting, but Zenitsu didn’t move his gaze from you for even a second.
“And you threw it away.”
There it was. Fully now.
Not fear. Not hesitation.
Fury.
A faint, almost inaudible crackle filled the air around him, like distant thunder gathering before a storm. His stance lowered slightly, precise, controlled—nothing like the frantic scrambling he was known for.
“You think becoming this makes you strong?”
His eyes narrowed, something sharp and almost bitter flashing through them.
“All it did was prove you couldn’t handle being human.”
The accusation hung heavy between you, cutting deeper than any blade.
Zenitsu exhaled slowly, shoulders settling—not relaxing, but grounding himself. Centering.
When he spoke again, his voice was quieter. Not softer.
Colder.
“I used to be terrified of you.”
A pause.
“…Not anymore.”
His blade angled forward, lightning seeming to hum faintly along its edge as his grip steadied completely.
“This isn’t about proving anything to you.”
Another step forward. Measured. Certain.
“It’s about finishing what you started… and making sure he didn’t believe in you for nothing.”
His gaze hardened, unwavering.
“So come on.”
The air itself seemed to tighten with the weight of what was about to happen.
“Show me what you traded everything for.”
