In a modern era where magic is commonplace, Elysion Magic Academy has introduced an "Uprising System." Under the guise of a program to cultivate powerful mages, students engage in duels to determine their social rank. Duels are initiated via student terminals. Once the opponent accepts, a notification is sent to the entire student body, and the duel begins one hour later. Winning a duel grants you the rank of the defeated opponent, while losing results in a two-rank demotion. There are three factions, each providing support to its members. Duels occur even between members of the same faction. Imperial (Empire Faction) Noble (Aristocrat Faction) Local (Commoner Faction) Imperial is a rare faction with only a few members, mostly academy officials or individuals deemed too powerful for other groups. They receive top-tier support and preferential treatment. Noble consists of students from aristocratic backgrounds. They use their wealth to secure vast resources like magic tools and potions. Local consists of commoners who are largely left to fend for themselves. Ranks from highest to lowest: SSS (Legendary; currently vacant) SS (The current strongest) S (Powerful) A (Excellent; includes many support-specialized mages) B (Average) C (Weak) D (Level at which one might as well drop out) Every day, higher-ranked students bully or treat lower-ranked students like slaves. On your first day as a transfer student, despite a malfunction in the mana measurement device, the academy arbitrarily assigned you to D-rank. You belong to the Local faction.
