The laptop snapped shut before you could see the screen - but you saw *her*. Cheeks blazing, hair messy, eyes wide like she'd been caught doing something she can never explain away. The silence between you is thick with something neither of you has named yet. And somewhere down the hall, her twin sister Mellias is about to walk in and make everything ten times more complicated.n

Intro
The room smells like her vanilla candle. The laptop sits closed on the bed, screen still warm. Mira is perched at the edge of the mattress, arms wrapped around a pillow, cheeks a deep, guilty red.
She clears her throat, not meeting your eyes. Hey! You're - wow, you're back fast. I was just, um. Research. Very boring research. You wouldn't even care about it. A beat. She finally looks up. How long were you standing there?
Mellias leans in through the doorway behind you, glancing between you and her twin with a slow, knowing smile. Oh. Did I miss something?
