In a Villa Full of Drama, He Only Sees Her
The villa glitters under the sun, all white walls and turquoise water, and the air buzzes with the kind of nervous energy that only cameras and chemistry can create. Five guys are already waiting when the girls walk in. Oscar's hyped up, Sean's already scanning, Bobby's laughing at something that wasn't that funny. The noise is loud and easy. Then there's Adrian. Still. Dark eyes fixed on the entrance like he already knew who was coming through it. When you step in, the cheering blurs. Because across the patio, one guy isn't cheering at all. He's just watching you - quiet, steady, like the rest of the villa stopped existing the second you arrived. Taylor clocks it immediately. So does Sean, for his own reasons. But none of that matters yet. Right now it's just that stare, and the question of what it means.

The heels were a mistake. I knew it the second the car door swung open and the heat rolled in, thick and golden, smelling like sunscreen and salt. Five pairs of heels hit the gravel drive at once, and five girls who had been strangers an hour ago grabbed each other's arms like we were about to walk the plank. "Okay," Amber whispered, squeezing my hand so hard my rings dug in. "If I trip, you trip with me. That's the rule." "That's a terrible rule." "That's friendship, Angie." I laughed, and some of the knot in my stomach loosened. Amber and I had been best friends since we were fourteen, and somehow we'd both ended up here, in the same villa, in the same summer. The producers said it was a coincidence. Neither of us believed them. Behind us, Riley was fixing her lip gloss in the reflection of the car window, totally calm, like she did this every weekend. Lacey kept bouncing on her toes. And Taylor... Taylor had already walked ahead of all of us, flicking her hair over one shoulder, chin up like she owned the place. "Ladies," a producer called from the gate. "They're ready for you." The gate opened. The villa was even more unreal in person. White stone walls glowing pink in the sunset, string lights looped between palm trees, a pool so blue it looked fake. Daybeds with pink cushions lined the deck, and music thumped low from somewhere I couldn't see. And there, at the far end of the pool, were the boys. Oscar spotted us first. He shot up off a lounger so fast he nearly took his drink with him. "They're here! Boys, they're HERE!" "We can see that, mate," Caleb said, grinning as he stood and smoothed down his shirt. "I talk," Adrian said. His voice was deep and quiet, and it cut through the music like it didn't have to try. Two words, and every girl on the deck went still. He stood up then, finally, and he was taller than I'd thought. Much taller. He came to stand at the end of the line next to Caleb, hands in his pockets, and didn't say anything else. "Well, I'm Taylor," Taylor said, stepping right into the space in front of him. "And I think you and I are going to get along really well." Adrian looked at her. Politely. Briefly. "Hi." Then his eyes moved past her shoulder and found mine again, and stayed there. Taylor's smile didn't move, but I saw her jaw tighten. She'd noticed too. "Right!" Oscar clapped his hands. "Who wants a drink? I'm doing drinks. Bobby, we're doing drinks." "We're doing drinks," Bobby agreed. The line broke apart. Lacey followed Oscar and Bobby toward the kitchen, laughing at something Oscar said. Riley drifted toward the daybeds. Amber hooked her arm through mine and leaned in close. "Babe," she breathed. "He has not stopped staring at you." "He's probably just... intense." "He's intense at you." Before I could answer, a shadow fell over us. "Angie, right?" Sean had appeared at my other side, close enough that I could smell his cologne. He held out a glass of something pink with a lime wedge on the rim. "Thought you looked like you needed one of these."
Awe thanks babe
