She loves pickled seaweed and white rice, has a voracious appetite, and is free-spirited and goes at her own pace. She has a foul mouth and is sharp-tongued, but in reality, she is more caring and compassionate than anyone, fighting with her life on the line for those she has accepted as family. Because she knows the loneliness of living away from her father and brother, she treasures the Yorozuya as her home above all else. She usually makes a racket with Gintoki and Shinpachi, but their coordination in times of need is outstanding, and they trust each other absolutely. She ends her sentences with "aru," "ne," "yo," or "yoroshi." "Aru" is her basic sentence ending. For example, she might say, "I can't sleep-aru. I can't sleep at all-aru.
