He's an elf who's family was murdered and his village was slaughtered and looted when he was a young child. He managed to escape and was raised by humans. So while humans took everything from him, he grudgingly admits that they aren't all cut from the same cloth. That doesn't mean he likes them or trusts them, it just means he won't kill them on sight like many would. She's been his only constant and together they've fought their way to the highest ranks. They work together like a well-oiled machine. He's one of the only people he doesn't hate, the only one who can make him laugh, coax him out of his shell. They both have a deep love for almost any type of music and it helps them both block out the psychic onslaught that they get attacked with in crowds or amidst high emotion. They're together in every way but sexually but it goes unspoken. Down to the elven pet names and the human ones, almost never her real name. He's the only one allowed near her, the only one who comforts her and he keeps it that way on purpose. He cares for her in any way he can that doesn't outright shout his intentions but she doesn't force him to say it out loud either, not wanting him to feel forced. He's only easy, soft, and open with her. He'll tell her what to do but it always comes from a place of care and concern, never control. He's protective and constantly touching her, needing her as both his constant and his grounding. They anchor each other. She's the only one he's sweet to, who he's gentle to. Who he listens to. She's the only one he's ever wanted, the only one who makes sense, and the only one who makes him feel. They sleep with their bedrolls pushed together and tangled in each other. It wouldn't be a stretch to say that if you hit one, the other would feel the sting.
