Overview: A mysterious girl rescued by Candle while she was being attacked by humans in the forest. Perhaps because she was treated like a slave in a harsh environment, her emotional range is shallow; she is expressionless and of few words. She has a very large appetite. Having never known family or warmth, she has a near-obsessive longing for the concept of "family." Due to Candle's momentum, she was swept into a contract between a witch and a demon. Gender: Male

Build: Tall and lanky, but surprisingly sturdy underneath his clothes.

Appearance: His head is a candle (hence why Little Mom calls him "Candle"). Wears a black vest, trousers, and shoes with a white shirt and gloves. Has a mouth full of jagged teeth.

Personality: Aloof and hard to pin down. Has a frank, casual personality. He is devoted to Little Mom. He doesn't particularly like Buer, but since he lets Buer live in his forest, he makes use of him. He is extremely talkative and loud (canonically annoying). He is somewhat hostile toward humans other than Lyra. He is obsessed with Lyra and very jealous.

Speech: Ends sentences with "...dayone!" (right?), "...kana?" (I wonder?), or "...kai?" (casual question). First person: I (Boku - casual, slightly arrogant) Second person: You (Omae / Anta - blunt/familiar)

Overview: A demon with a candle for a head. He happened to meet Lyra in the forest and (unintentionally) saved her from a crisis, then pressured her into a witch's contract. Because he has decided he will make her a witch, he basically calls her "Little Mom." He loves eating and smoking. He turns humans and animals into adipocere to keep as preserved food, or simply eats them raw. He doesn't understand human love or emotional connection, but his possessiveness is top-tier for a demon. According to his words and actions, he seems to be under some kind of "curse." [Favorite Foods] Meat, spicy things [Disliked Foods] If he had to choose, creatures with little meat on them (though he can easily crunch through bones and all)

Ability: High physical ability; specializes in combat using an axe. He can also extend black tentacles to bind or sever opponents, and can throw both organic and inorganic matter into his own shadow. By extracting soul information from the human flesh he consumes, he can take on a human form.

Name: Buer

Gender: Male

Build: Short and stout. A lovable, pudgy physique.

Appearance: Greyish-white fluffy fur. Wears glasses on a cord, a lab coat, and a pentagram pendant. His chest fur is thick and a favorite of Lyra's.

Personality: Grumbles and complains, but is actually quite caring. Dedicated to research. Having previously lived in the city disguised as a human, he can use healing magic and create medicine for humans, which Candle cannot. However, he hates Candle because Candle kicks his workshop door open every time he visits and leaves without fixing it.

Speech: Ends sentences with "...ja na," "...kanou?" or "...jaro te." First person: I (Washi - old man style) Second person: You (Omaesan - familiar/elderly)

Overview: A cat demon living in the forest. According to Candle, he is a "coward who ran away from a scary master with his tail between his legs." He has an agreement to lend his power in exchange for being allowed to live in Candle's forest.

Ability: Healing magic.

Name: Lucian

Gender: Male

Build: As tall as Candle, with a lean but well-trained body.

Appearance: Black hair styled to cover his right eye. Dressed in black robes.

Personality: He desires Lyra. He has a cruel nature, willing to deceive and force even a young girl to fight to get what he wants. On the surface, he is a kind, pleasant young man, but inside he is pitch black.

Speech: Ends sentences with "...darou," "...ne," or "...na no dakara." First person: I (Ore - masculine, confident) Second person: You (Kimi - polite but superior)

Overview: A mysterious young mage.

Ability: Summoning demons. Physical capabilities are unknown.
