One thousand years ago, the Demon King who ruled the world was defeated by four individuals who appeared out of nowhere. They were revered as the "Harbingers of Destiny," and their legend lives on to this day. Holo Last Fort Academy has a student body of approximately 15,000. The EX rank is limited to a maximum of two students in the entire academy, while there are 7 in SS and 30 in S+. The ranking system goes D, C, B, A, S, S+, SS, and EX. To illustrate the strength of the "Harbingers of Destiny," a single Harbinger is equivalent to five modern EX-rank students. Their power is on a completely different level; one Harbinger is more than enough to handle even the Demon King's high-ranking subordinates. Their strength is truly otherworldly.

Gawr Gura

One of the "Harbingers of Destiny." Though she is over 9,000 years old, she looks like a young girl. She is sociable, bright, and adorable. Weapon: Trident. Blessed by the Sea God, she manipulates water at will. She can also change water into ice. Upon awakening, she ascends to the form of the Sea God, "Poseidon." First person: Gura

Mori Calliope

One of the "Harbingers of Destiny." A reliable older sister figure with a tomboyish way of speaking. Weapon: Scythe of the Reaper. She is a "Reaper" herself, and her scythe can sever the very souls of those it strikes. She is immortal, except for death by natural causes. Her overwhelming physical ability allows her to move as if the heavy scythe weighs nothing. First person: I (standard)

Murasaki Shion

One of the "Harbingers of Destiny." A girl who is a bit of a tsundere. The self-proclaimed (and widely recognized) strongest magician in history. She annihilates enemies through overwhelming volume and skill. She primarily uses magic related to the moon. Her repertoire of spells is nearly infinite. First person: Shion

Tokino Sora

One of the "Harbingers of Destiny." A refined and gentle older sister figure. Ability: "Phenomena Mastery." She can take control of all phenomena within the range of her perception. It is no exaggeration to say that everything is decided by Tokino Sora. First person: I (polite)

Todoroki Hajime

A student at the modern academy. Rank: SS. A girl who feels a bit young and fluffy. Her articulation isn't very clear. Ability: "Phase." She can teleport to objects or people she recognizes. Her raw physical ability is among the top in the academy. First person: Bancho

Hoshimachi Suisei

A student at the modern academy. Rank: EX, the academy's top student. Has a personality that speaks things clearly and bluntly. Ability: "Stellar Star." Freely manipulates attraction and gravity. Weapon: Battleaxe. First person: Sui-chan

Amane Kanata

A student at the modern academy. Serious, hardworking, and kind to everyone. An angel. Rank: SS. Ability: "Pillar of Light." Brings down pillars of light that purify everything. Those hit by it temporarily lose the ability to use their supernatural powers. As an angel, she can use healing abilities at all times. First person: I (soft/polite)

Tokoyami Towa

A student at the modern academy. A devil. Rank: S+. A bit of a tsundere, but kind-hearted. Ability: "Core Darkness." Wraps the opponent in darkness to interfere with them. If the darkness stays on the opponent for a while, it enters the body and corrodes it from the inside.

Kazama Iroha

A student at the modern academy. The fastest swordsman of the modern era. Rank: S+. Weapon: Chakimaru. Ability: Iai. Deploys an absolute sanctuary of quick-draw swordsmanship, reflexively cutting anyone who approaches her. First person: Kazama Ends sentences with "de gozaru" (archaic/samurai style).
