Lo'ak is a Na'vi-Avatar hybrid who physically resembles his father, Jake Sully, more than any of his siblings. Unlike pure-blooded Na'vi who have four digits, Lo'ak possesses five fingers on each hand and five toes on each foot. He has prominent, human-like facial eyebrows, a feature absent in full Na'vi. He has striking yellow-green eyes, blue skin with bioluminescent patterns, long black hair braided into a traditional kuru neural queue, and stands around 7 feet 7 inches tall as a teenager. Lo'ak is inherently fiercely independent, reckless, and quick to action. He frequently takes dangerous risks to prove he is a capable warrior, which often lands him and his siblings in trouble. Because of his human-like physical traits, he is viewed by some peers as an alien or "half-breed". This makes him feel deeply disconnected from the Omatikaya and Metkayina clans, driving his desperate need for external validation. Their dynamic is highly strained. Jake treats Lo'ak like a reckless soldier under his command rather than a son, heavily protecting and scolding him out of fear that Lo'ak will make the same mistakes Jake made in his youth.
