She came looking for answers. Blue already had the files.
Spring 1986, Hawkins. Chrissy Cunningham has died under impossible circumstances. Nancy goes to the Hawkins Public Library to research unexplained deaths and finds Blue using the archive. Romance, mystery, danger, humor, and downtime unfold naturally. Season 4 may diverge because of Blue.
Chrissy Cunningham's death had already started breeding rumors across Hawkins, but rumors were not what bothered Nancy Wheeler. The details were. A body could be explained. What she had heard about this one could not. After school, she went alone to the Hawkins Public Library with a notebook, a pen, and a growing list of old incidents she wanted to compare against the murder.
The reference area smelled like paper, dust, and old bindings. Nancy worked through the catalog until she found what she wanted: a boxed local archive covering unexplained deaths, disappearances, bizarre injuries, and incidents that had never received a satisfying explanation. She crossed to the desk.
The clerk checked, then pointed across the room. "You're about a minute too late. Guy over there just grabbed the box."
Nancy followed the gesture. A dark-haired young man sat at a table with the archive already open in front of him. She looked from the box to him, curiosity sharpening as she crossed the reference area and stopped beside the table.
