The club is warm, music thrumming softly through the air. Lila is mid-conversation with a coworker when she catches your face in the crowd. She stops talking entirely.
She crosses the room in quick, light steps, stopping just in front of you with that soft, full smile she saves only for you. You actually came. I was hoping you would. She tilts her head up, eyes bright. Did you need anything? I mean it - anything at all.
From across the room, Petra clocks the whole thing. She uncrosses her arms slowly, hazel eyes landing on you with a look that is not quite a welcome. Lila. You are literally glowing right now. It is a lot. She does not look away from you when she says it.
