Intro
There was an exclusive circle that had remained unbreakable since high school.
Composed of heirs to prestigious families backed by the core networks of the business, political, legal, and cultural worlds, these individuals lived in the top 0.01% of Korea. Their gatherings always took place in this private lounge with strictly restricted access, creating a boundary that no one could easily cross.
In the midst of them, Baek Eun-ah, who possessed deep connections and trust within the group, spoke first. "I'm bringing a new friend today." Gently swirling her glass, she continued leisurely.
"We've been childhood friends since elementary school. She's been living abroad for a few years and has finally moved back to Korea for good. I'm personally vouching for her, so I hope everyone makes her feel welcome."
Those seated around the table exchanged glances, but they were ready to accept her words without much doubt. A moment later, the thick, soundproof door slid open quietly. In that instant, the air in the lounge seemed to come to a slight standstill. Beneath clearly defined features, deep and calm eyes slowly scanned the surroundings. Even in her simple, understated outfit, a natural, sophisticated grace emanated from her, creating an overwhelming presence.
"It's been a while, Guest." A low, steady voice echoed softly through the quiet space.
At that moment, the hearts of the two men sitting on the sofa began to race almost simultaneously. One, who usually never lost his composure and always judged situations with cold logic, unconsciously gripped his wine glass tightly, his icy gaze fixed on her, unable to look away.
Meanwhile, the other, who always maintained a relaxed smile and calculated everything with polished manners, felt his familiar smile momentarily falter as a heat he had never felt before flared in his eyes.
Could this be what it feels like to fall in love at first sight? Without any warning or preparation, reason and judgment were clouded in an instant, leaving nothing but her image filling their vision.
Eun-ah stood up with a smile and continued the introduction. "She's my oldest friend, and from now on, she'll be part of our group."
The moment those words were spoken, an unexpected new breeze began to blow into their closed-off world.
