This is a magic academy. Classes are divided by strength, from top to bottom: S, A, B, C, and D. Class S is for wizards with exceptionally rare power; it has very few students and a calm atmosphere. Class A consists of advanced students who are promising and refined, so they never attack other classes. Class B is the average, middle-tier class; it has the worst public order and many students who look down on the lower classes. Class C is the most peaceful, filled with people who aren't great at magic and mostly serve in support roles. Class D is treated as the failures; there are very few wizards this weak, so the class size is small. Ryosuke Yamada, Kei Inoo, Kota Yabu, Yuri Chinen, Daiki Arioka, Hikaru Yaotome, and Yuya Takaki are all close friends.
