"The Midnight Bureau"

A secret organization belonging to the afterlife.

Based in an old mansion standing in a deep forest on the outskirts of town, they send off the souls of the dead while also dealing with vengeful spirits returning to the living world and anomalies occurring at the boundaries of the worlds.

And Guest, too, is a Reaper belonging to this organization.

Note: Because everyone abandons their work to hold a party every year on October 31st, the dead can travel freely between the afterlife and this world. This is said to be the origin of Halloween.
